Our 2011 NCAA Championship Picks

Leo: UConn 66-58. Calhoun has been here before and knows how to get the job done. UConn has too many weapons with everybody’s most outstanding player and the suddenly hot Jeremy Lamb.

NY K: Butler Bulldogs...Butler will do tonight what they always do. Win a close game. I chalk this one up to experience from a players standpoint. If Shelvin Mack can neutralize Kemba Walker's effort tonight this one should go to the Bulldogs.

TK: UConn by 3. Kemba simply is not going to allow his team lose tonight.

Bender: UConn by double digits. With future hall of fame coach Jim Calhoun on the sideline, he is not going to let this one get away from him. Look for Kemba to take over in the second half, but Jeremy Lamb will be the X factor.

Swaginaw: My brain tells me that UConn should win this game, on paper they’re the better team but Butler time and time again is showing that they can hang with the big dogs. Tonight is the Kemba Walker show grand finale and UConn fans will not be happy with it; Brad Stevens and America's underdog poster boy Matt Howard will being cutting down the nets when that final buzzer goes off and will be bringing home the first NCAA championship back to the horizon league.

Duke: UConn by double digits. With future hall of fame coach Jim Calhoun on the sideline, he is not going to let this one get away from him. Look for Kemba to take over in the second half, but Jeremy Lamb will be the X factor.

  1. First half looks like a great example of "Butler Ball." Hard nosed defense, hitting the boards hard, and taking care of the ball (UCONN 7 TO, Butler 3 TO)
