Starting tonight, we will be conducting a mock draft of the first round of the NFL draft. We will rotate daily; one person one team in one day. This will make the draft as "real" as a mock draft is possible, each pick dependent on the picks of the previous draftees. (Leo, Bender, Teen, Negron. TK etc. etc.)
So all this being said, I will go first in Believe The Hype's first NFL Mock Draft...
1. Carolina Panthers: Blaine Gabbert, QB Missouri
In a year of no stand out number one overall player the Carolina Panthers make what they think is the safe decision in Blaine Gabbert. Newly hired Panthers Head Coach Ron Rivera will look to get 'his guy' at the quarterback position. To be a successful team in the NFL you must have above average quarterback play and the 2010 Panthers quarterback's left little to be desired. Jimmy Clausen just didn't show enough last year to make the front office believe that he is the guy of this organization's future and Cam Newton's question marks make Blaine Gabbert the first selection.

I disagree... I think this year's less than stellar group of quarterbacks will make the Panthers go in another direction. Despite his most recent foibles being aired by the media, I still think Patrick Peterson will be the #1 draft pick in this year's draft.
ReplyDeleteThat is definitely not a bad prediction. I think this is the worst QB class since Leinart, Young, Cutler. (Cutler has been solid)
